Ysælor: A World Shaped by Belief
Discover Ysælor, a world where the dreams and desires of mortal and immortal intertwine—where sovereignty and servitude are two sides of the same coin.
Here, the spark of the mortal Soul shines bright, illuminating not only their dreams but also seeds of their hopes and fears, their desires and despairs. Warmed and nourished by this light – this spark – these seeds give rise to the Revered: immortal beings receptive to belief and faith.
And while the Revered can take a multitude of forms – spirits and fae, monsters and demons – many become deified in the minds of mortals rising as their gods and guardians. It is these gods whom mortals, despite their own inner strength, venerate as the sustaining and driving force of their lives, and indeed the entirety of Ysælor.
And beyond Ysælor, lie the esoteric Outer Realms: the sanctuaries and homes of the divine and dead. Within the Outer Realms, the complexities of Revered society rival, even surpass, those of any mortal empire or kingdom. These Realms also serve as the paradises and purgatories where the Souls of all the mortal dead—the Manes—exist on for in eternity, under the rule and watchful eye of the Revered.
Sagas of Sovereignty and Servitude
Chained Reverence utilises Oneirostoria’s very own A.E.O.N.s, to bring Ysælor to life.
While the focus of Chained Reverence is your portrayal of one of the Revered, you will also be able to journey through Ysælor as a mortal human, an Ascended demi-mortal—human, animal, or otherwise—or even as one of the spectral dead, the Manes.
Rule as a God
Walk the land of Ysælor as one of the Revered, a divine entity birthed from fervent collective mortal belief. Navigate the intricacies of divine politics, wield Artefacts of unimaginable power, and battle foes born from inhuman horror—all in a world where belief and reality are inexorably linked.
Govern and guide your mortal Followers, wield Theurgy, enact Oaths and enter Pantheons with fellow Revered, forge divine Artefacts, and even craft your own Realms—your sanctuary and home to watch over the Souls of your Follower’s for all eternity.
But take care, for the source of all your power is the capricious, ever-changing belief of mortals, vulnerable as they are to the ravages of time and the vagaries of birth and death…
Distinguish yourself as a Mortal
Venture forth and brave the wilds of Ysælor, or explore the machinations and mysteries of its civilisations as one of its mortal inhabitants. Seek out your place in Ysælorian society, or investigate long-forgotten ruins and discover ancient secrets, all in a world fraught with both natural and unnatural dangers and challenges.
Will you turn to the gods for aid, empower yourself with mortal Thaumaturgy, or brave the world armed only with your own will and strength?
Or, take a step beyond mortality as one of the Ascended: a once mortal being infused with divine power, forced to walk the often blurry line between the familiar and fantastical.

Embark on a journey through emotion and passion, as one of the Manes: the spectral remnants of a mortal’s psyche lingering on after death. Will you accept your death and move on to one of the Outer Realms, or fight to remain within the mortal world—perhaps seeking vengeance, closure, or to protect those left behind?
